What is GATE Tutoring Perth?
GATE tutoring in Perth focuses on preparing students for Western Australia’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE / ASET) selection process. At Intuition Educational Support, our GATE tutoring is designed to develop the specific skills assessed in the selective school entrance testing process, including abstract reasoning, quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension, and written expression.
Our programs are tailored to the individual needs of gifted and high-ability students, with a strong emphasis on thinking skills, exam strategies, and confidence under timed conditions. Delivered by experienced educators, our tutoring provides structured support in a calm, focused environment, helping students extend their abilities and perform at their best.
Preparing for the GATE Test
Intuition Educational Support offers weekly small group classes for students in Years 5–6, as well as individual tuition for students preparing to sit the GATE (ASET) test.
Our tuition focuses on the key skill areas assessed in the test and is designed to help students build confidence, develop effective strategies, and perform to the best of their ability under exam conditions.
We also offer mock tests and small group workshops during the school holidays leading up to the GATE test in March each year, giving students the opportunity to practise in a structured, exam-style environment.

How We Can Help
Intuition Educational Support offers structured GATE tutoring through weekly classes and personalised instruction. Our programs are designed to support students preparing for the Western Australian Gifted and Talented (GATE / ASET) selection process.
Preparation focuses on the specific skill areas assessed in the test, including quantitative reasoning, abstract reasoning, reading comprehension, and written expression. These skills differ from standard school assessments and require targeted practice and familiarity with test-style questions.
Through guided exposure to question formats, strategy development, and timed practice, students learn how to approach the test with greater confidence and clarity. Weekly sessions with specialist GATE tutors are complemented by small group holiday workshops for additional consolidation.
Families are encouraged to begin preparation early to allow students sufficient time to develop skills steadily and reduce exam-related pressure. Please contact us to find out when classes and workshops are running.
Weekly Classes
Intuition Educational Support’s weekly GATE classes provide structured preparation across the key skill areas assessed in the test. Sessions focus on both literacy and numeracy, with students exposed to a range of question types commonly encountered in the GATE exam.
Classes are divided into two segments, with 90 minutes dedicated to literacy and 90 minutes to numeracy, each led by experienced educators. This balanced structure allows students to develop skills steadily, build familiarity with test-style questions, and gain confidence in a supportive, small-group environment.
Mock Tests
Intuition Educational Support’s GATE mock tests are designed to familiarise students with the structure, timing, and demands of the GATE (ASET) exam. Students complete practice assessments under exam-style conditions, covering both literacy and numeracy components.
Mock tests provide valuable insight into question types, pacing, and test strategy. Results are reviewed to help identify strengths and areas for further development, supporting more focused preparation in the lead-up to the exam.
Workshops
Intuition Educational Support offers small group GATE workshops during the school holidays, providing targeted support in key skill areas assessed in the GATE (ASET) test. Workshops focus on consolidating concepts, practising test-style questions, and strengthening problem-solving and writing skills.
These sessions are ideal for focused revision, skill reinforcement, and building confidence in a structured, supportive environment in the lead-up to the exam.
