Specialist Writing Programs
Writing expertise for selective schools, scholarships, and high-ability students
Why Writing Matters?
A key objective of primary and secondary English is to develop students’ ability to write imaginative, informative, and persuasive texts with increasing control, clarity, and sophistication. As students progress, expectations extend beyond basic structure to include depth of ideas, precision of language, and purposeful expression across a range of academic contexts.
At Intuition Educational Support, writing programs are developed through a collaborative team approach. Principal Educator Trish Baran works closely with Michael Buckingham Gray, published author and writing coach, to design and refine writing programs that support students across upper primary and high school. Instruction is delivered by a team of experienced educators who share a consistent, high-standards approach to teaching writing.
Our writing programs focus on structure, cohesion, vocabulary development, and the ability to produce clear, well-controlled written responses under classroom and exam conditions. This expertise supports students preparing for selective schools, scholarship assessments, and mainstream English studies, where strong writing is a critical differentiator.
Individual writing tuition is also available for students who would benefit from personalised support. Please contact us to discuss suitable options for your child.
Our Writing Programs
Our weekly writing workshops provide structured, ongoing support for students in upper primary and high school. Sessions focus on developing strong foundations in structure, clarity, vocabulary choice, and idea development across imaginative, informative, and persuasive writing.
These workshops are ideal for students who benefit from regular practice, guided feedback, and consistent expectations, helping them strengthen their writing over time in a supportive, small-group environment.
Advanced Writing Masterclass
Our Writing Masterclass is for students who already know the basics and are ready to become stronger, more confident writers.
This is not a beginner class.
Students focus on developing ideas, improving structure, and learning how to make their writing clearer and more effective.
The class is led by Michael, our published writer and experienced writing coach, who works closely with students to help them understand how good writing is built and refined.
In this class, students will:
- Learn how to organise ideas clearly
- Write stronger paragraphs and introductions
- Improve sentence flow and word choice
- See real examples of strong writing and why they work
- Edit and improve their own writing
This class suits students who enjoy writing, want to improve their school results, or are preparing for scholarship applications and selective school entry.
