Preparing for the GATE Test

Intuition Educational Support offers weekly small group classes for students in Years 5-6 and individual tuition for all students preparing to sit the GATE test. 


Our tuition covers all areas of the test and is designed to give students the best possible chance to achieve the scores needed to gain a place in a selective school. 


We also offer Mock Tests and small group workshops during the school holidays leading up to the test in March each year.

How We Can Help

Intuition Educational Support offers GATE tutoring classes and personalised instruction. Students looking to enrol in any program are required to take Academic tests, which are distinct from regular school assignments. The test questions are more complex than what is typically covered in school, underscoring the need for expert guidance to ensure thorough preparation. Without this support, students may find themselves at a disadvantage. The tests assess quantitative and abstract reasoning, reading comprehension, and writing skills.


Acquainting oneself with various question types, mastering key concepts, and fine-tuning effective test-taking strategies will greatly enhance your child's chances of gaining admission to their desired school.


By familiarizing students with the question formats and structures, we provide our students with the greatest opportunity to attain the high scores necessary to secure admission to prestigious selective schools.

Weekly Classes

Intuition GATE weekly classes offer an all-encompassing approach to covering fundamental concepts and different question formats that are commonly encountered in the test. These classes are divided into two segments, dedicating 90 minutes to both literacy and numeracy, each session being led by expert instructors. By providing comprehensive preparation for the GATE exam, our goal is to instill confidence in our students as they approach their test day. Through our tailored approach, we strive to not only prepare them thoroughly but also to help them excel and achieve success in their GATE examination.

Mock Tests

This GATE (ASET) mock exam is designed to give students whether currently in year 5 or year 7 or 8 an opportunity to familiarise themselves with exam environments and the types of questions they may face.


Students will be examined on all four areas of the GATE exam requirement, in the order that they are usually sat. Starting with Reading Comprehension, followed by Communicating Ideas in Writing. Then a short break before undertaking the Quantitative Reasoning, finishing up with Abstract Reasoning.



Workshops

Our GATE workshops are strategically scheduled during school breaks and also take place in the 4 weeks leading up to the test, providing students with ample preparation time. These workshops are tailored to meet the needs of students who are gearing up for the West Australian Selective Schools Tests or those aiming for scholarships in private or public schools. With our comprehensive programs, we cover all four exam sections in detail and prioritize the development of exam-specific strategies and effective techniques to ensure students are fully equipped and confident on test day.
