Why an English Tutor

No matter what age or what stage in life, English is the most important subject that students learn in school. English comprehension and writing skills are used across all learning areas, both in and out of school every single day. However, grasping the concepts of writing and understanding can be difficult.

How an English Tutor can help

Whether it's building up the basics or developing students' creativity we've got it covered. Our qualified tutors are teachers or specialists in their field, and our individual tuition sessions are specifically designed to suit the needs of each student requiring additional support with all aspects of English studies.

An IES English Tutor will help students to:

  • use comprehension strategies to build literal and inferred meaning about key events, ideas and information in texts
  • plan, draft and publish imaginative, informative and persuasive texts
  • understand how language features are used to link and sequence ideas.
  • identify and explain language features of texts
  • experiment with text structures and language features and their effects in creating literary texts
  • compare and analyse information in different texts, explaining literal and implied meaning

Our Programs

Our English tutoring programs will help students build the foundations for all English principles and keep improving as they move through their schooling years.

Primary School English

Our English tutors guide children in learning the basics of reading and writing to develop students’ knowledge, understanding and skills in listening, reading, viewing, speaking, writing and creating.

High School English

As students enter high school they have a grasp of the basics. Our tutors will build on these these skills and support students to improve in more complex writing, comprehension and fluency. The deeper the understanding, the more students will succeed at school.

Year 11 & 12 WACE English

When it comes to WACE English, our tutors have the expertise to guide students in these crucial years. Our primary focus is on further developing students’ analytical, creative, and critical thinking and communication skills.
