Supportive Reading for Stronger Understanding

Starting in Term 3, The Reading Room is a gentle, supportive online program designed to help students who find reading or understanding texts challenging. Led by Michael Buckingham Gray, a published writer and experienced mentor, this small-group session builds confidence in reading, vocabulary, and comprehension — at a comfortable pace.
Each week, students will read together, explore new words, and talk about the text to make sure they understand what’s happening and why. It’s a great extra boost for students who need more time, support, or structure when reading.
🧠 Each 90-minute session includes:
✔️ Guided reading together
✔️ Vocabulary support
✔️ Understanding the story and characters
✔️ Group discussion with Michael’s support
✔️ A calm and encouraging environment
💻 Delivered online using our secure platform
🗓 Sundays – choose your session: 10:00–11:30am & 1:30–3:00pm
📅 Starts Sunday, July 27 (Week 2 of Term 3)
👥 For Upper Primary and High School students who need extra reading support
🎯 Can be taken on its own or alongside “The Voice & The Vision”
